Gandanta (Gaṇḍānta), mn. posterior of cheek. Refers to the dangerous junction of the fire and water signs, spanning a dangerous boundary of either 10º, 3º 20’ or 50’ where the smallest span is
the most dangerous for life and the larger only impacts wealth. Refers to both signs/
nakṣatra and Tithi where the Tithi Gaṇḍānta is 1/30th of a Tithi, i.e. 24’.
