lagnād Lagna or Ascendant, aṣṭame eighth, budhaphalam fruits or results of the Mercury
Translation: The results of the Mercury in the eighth house.
आयुकारकः बहुक्षेत्रेवान्॥ ५७॥

पंचविंशतिवर्षे अनेकप्रतिष्ठासिद्धिः॥ ५९॥
कीर्तिप्रसिद्धिः॥ ६०॥
भावाधिपे बलयुतेपूर्नयुः॥ ६१॥
अरिनीचपापयुते अल्पायुः॥ ६२॥
अथवा उच्चस्वक्षेत्रे वा शुभयुते पूर्णयुः॥ ६३॥

āyu life, duration of life; kāraka doing, acting, producing, making; bahu much, many, abundance; kṣetrevān owner of land, properties or soil;
sapta seven; putravān having son or children;
paṁcaviṁśativarṣe 25th year; aneka not one, many, separated; pratiṣṭhā standing still, stability, fame; siddhi accomplishment, fulfillment, success;
kīrti fame, renown, glory; prasiddhi accomplishment, success, fame;
bhāvādhipe lord of the house; balayute strong; pūrnayu full longevity;
ari an enemy; nīca debilitated; pāpayute conjoined malefic; alpāyu short lived;
athavā or, rather, either; ucca exalted; svakṣetre own sign; vā or; śubhayute conjoined benefic; pūrṇayu full longevity.
Translation: If Mercury is in the eighth house the native will get a good span of life and will be owning many properties. He will have seven children.
In his 25th year he will receive respect and honor in many ways and will be well known for his accomplishments.
If the lord of the eighth house is strong the native will live full lifespan. If lord of the eighth house is in an inimical sign, debilitated or conjoined a malefic planet, the native will be short lived. On the other hand, if lord of the eighth house is exalted, in own sign or conjoined a benefic planet, the native will have full longevity.
