अथ तन्वादिद्वादशभावस्थित गुरूफलमाह

तत्रादौ लग्ने गुरुफलम्

atha tanvādidvādaśabhāvasthita gurūphalamāha

tatrādau lagne guruphalam

atha now; tanva part of the body; adi and other; dvādaśabhāva twelve houses; sthita standing, being placed in; gurū planet Jupiter; phalam fruit, result; tatrādau therefore, therein; lagne Lagna or ascendant; guruphalam the results of the Jupiter.

Translation: Now begins the twelve houses beginning from the Lagna and the placement of the Jupiter therein. Therefore we can begin with the results of the Jupiter in the ascendant.

स्वक्षेत्रे शब्दशास्त्राधिकारी॥ १॥

त्रिवेदी बहुपुत्रवान् सुखी चिरायुः जानवान्॥ २॥

उच्चे पूर्नफलानि॥ ३॥

षोडशवर्षे महाराजयोगः॥ ४॥

अरिनीचपापानां क्षेत्रे पापायुते वा नीचकर्मवान्॥ ५॥

मनश्चलत्ववान् मध्यायुः पुत्रहीनः स्वजनपरित्यागी

कृतघ्नः गर्विष्ठ बहुजनद्वेषी सांचरवान् पापक्लेशभोगी॥ ६॥

svakṣetre śabdaśāstrādhikārī || 1||

trivedī bahuputravān sukhī cirāyuḥ jānavān || 2||

ucce pūrnaphalāni || 3||

ṣoḍaśavarṣe mahārājayogaḥ || 4||

arinīcapāpānāṁ kṣetre pāpāyute vā nīcakarmavān || 5||

manaścalatvavān madhyāyuḥ putrahīnaḥ svajanaparityāgī

kṛtaghnaḥ garviṣṭha bahujanadveṣī sāṁcaravān pāpakleśabhogī || 6||

svakṣetre own sign; śabdaśāstra a science of sound, word, language; adhi and others; kārī action, act;

trivedī the 3 Vedas; bahuputravān having many children; sukhī happy, joyful, present; cirāyu long-lived; jānavān learned;

ucce exalted; pūrnaphalāni full results (fruits);

ṣoḍaśavarṣe 16th year; mahārājayoga Maharaja yoga;

ari enemy; nīca debilitated; pāpānāṁ kṣetre malefic sign; pāpāyute conjoined malefic; or; nīcakarmavān having a low occupation;

manaś mind; calatvavān unsteady, fluctuating, confused, disturbed; madhyāyuḥ middle life span; putrahīna loss, abandonment or deprived of children; svajana one’s own people, kinsman, relationships to; parityāgī leaving, quitting, renouncing;

kṛtaghna ungrateful; garviṣṭha extremly proud; bahujana a great multitude of people; dveṣī inimical, hostile, hating; sāṁcaravān movable; pāpa bad, wicked, evil; kleśa pain, affliction, distress; bhogī experiencing, suffering, enjoying.

Translation: If Jupiter is in its own sign (Sagittarius or Pisces) in the first house (Ascendant) the native will be well versed in the science of sound and other sacred scriptures. He will have full knowledge of all three Vedas, good number of children and will be happy, long-lived and learned.

If Jupiter is in his sign of exaltation (Cancer) all the above results will be fully realized and in his 16th year he will enjoy the effects of Maharaja Yoga.

If Jupiter is placed in sign of his enemy, is debilitated (Capricorn), placed in a malefic sign or conjoined malefic planet the native will have a low occupation, he will have an unstable mind and a medium span of life. He will be childless (or may lose his children) and will forsake his own people. He will be ungrateful, extremely proud, and inimical towards others. He will like travels and will be miserable.
