Saturn in the First house (Ascendant)

Saturn 1अथ तन्वादिद्वादश भावस्थित शनिफलमाह

तत्रादौ लग्ने शनिफलम्

tatrādau lagne śaniphalam

atha now; tanva part of the body; adi and other; dvādaśabhāva twelve houses; sthita standing, being placed in; śani planet Saturn; phalam fruit, result; tatrādau therefore, therein; lagne Lagna or ascendant; śaniphalam the results of the Venus.

Translation: Now begins the twelve houses beginning from the Lagna and the placement of the Saturn therein. Therefore we can begin with the results of the Saturn in the ascendant.

 

वातपित्तदेहः॥ १॥

उच्चे पुरग्रामाधिपः धनधान्य समृद्धिः॥ २॥

स्वर्क्षे पितृधनवान्॥ ३॥

वाहनेशकर्मेशक्षेत्रे बहुभाग्यम्॥ ४॥

महाराजयोगः॥ ५॥

चन्द्रमसा दृष्टे भिक्षुकी वृत्तः॥ ६॥

शुभदृष्टे निवृत्तः॥ ७॥

ucce puragrāmādhipaḥ dhanadhānya samṛddhiḥ || 2||

svarkṣe pitṛdhanavān || 3||

vāhaneśakarmeśakṣetre bahubhāgyam || 4||

mahārājayogaḥ || 5||

candramasā dṛṣṭe bhikṣukī vṛttaḥ || 6||

śubhadṛṣṭe nivṛttaḥ || 7||

 

vātapitta arising from the wind and from the bile, a form of rheumatism; deha the body;

ucce exalted; pura a house, residance, city; grāma village, community; adhipa rular, regent; dhana wealth, riches; dhānya consisting of grain, agriculture; samṛddhi prosperity, success, fortune;

svarkṣe own sign; pitṛ father; dhanavān wealthy, rich;

vāhaneśakarmeśakṣetre placed in the sign of the 4th or 10th house; bahubhāgyam very fortunate;

mahārājayoga Maharaja yoga;

candramasā the Moon; dṛṣṭe aspect; bhikṣukī beggar; vṛtta set in motion, become;

śubhadṛṣṭe aspect of benefic; nivṛtta turned back, rebounded, return.

 

Translation: If Saturn is in the first house (Ascendant), the native will suffer from rheumatic and bilious diseases. If Saturn is in his sign of exaltation (Libra) the native will have lordship over a village or town and will have financial and agricultural prosperity.

If Saturn is in own sign (Capricorn or Aquarius), father of the native will be wealthy.

If Saturn is in the ascendant placed in the sign of the 4th or the 10th house the native will be very fortunate and will enjoy the effects of Maharaja yoga.

If Saturn in the ascendant is aspected by the Moon, the native will earn his livelihood by begging. This will not happen if Saturn is aspected by a benefic also.

Venus in the Ninth house

Venus 9th

Translation: The results of the Venus in the ninth house.

पितृ दीर्घयुः॥ ५१॥

तत्र पापयुते पित्ररिष्टवान्॥ ५२॥

पापयुते पापक्षेत्रे अरिनीचगे धनहानिः॥ ५३॥

गुरुदारगः॥ ५४॥

शुभयुते भाग्यवृद्धिः॥ ५५॥

महाराजयोगः॥ ५६॥

वाहनकामेशयुते महाभाग्यवान् अश्वान्दोल्यादि वाहनवान्॥ ५७॥

dhārmika pious, righteous, virtuous; tapasvī practicing austerities; anuṣṭhana religious practices, carrying out, undertaking; para best;

pāde the foot; bahu much, many, abundance; uttama highest, best; lakṣaṇa mark, sign, symbol; dharmī virtues, pious; bhogavṛddhi growth of enjoyment; sutadāravān having children and wife;

pitṛ a father; dīrghayu long lived;

tatra therefor, in that case; pāpayute conjoined malefic; pitrariṣṭavān injury, hurt or death of father;

pāpayute conjoined malefic; pāpakṣetre malefic sign; arinīcage inimical sign or debilitated; dhanahāni loss of wealth;

gurudāraga having sexual intercourse with teachers wife;

śubhayute conjoined benefic; bhāgyavṛddhi increase of luck or good fortune;

mahārājayoga Maharaja yoga;

vāhanakāmeśa lord of the 4th or 7th house; yute conjoined; mahābhāgyavān exceedingly fortunate; aśvāndolyādi horses, swings and others; vāhanavān possessing conveyances;

vastra cloths, garments; alaṁkāra ornament, decoration; priya beloved, dear, favorite.

 

Translation: If Venus is in the ninth house, the native will be righteous minded, he will practice austerities and will carry out highest religious practices. He will have many distinctive marks (like lotus, ankush, conch, etc.) or symbols on his foot, he will be virtuous, will enjoy all kinds of comforts and will be blessed with wife and children.

His father will be long lived. In the case that Venus is conjoined malefic native can experience loss of father early in his life.

If Venus is conjoined malefic, is placed in a malefic or inimical sign or debilitated (Virgo), there will be loss of wealth and native will have sexual intercourse with teacher’s wife.

If Venus is conjoined benefic, there will be increase of good fortune and native will experience Maharaja yoga (indicates highest success).

If Venus is conjoined 4th or the 7th lord, the native will be exceedingly fortunate, he will possess all kinds of conveyances and will be fond of cloths and ornaments.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jupiter in the First House

Translation: Now begins the twelve houses beginning from the Lagna and the placement of the Jupiter therein. Therefore we can begin with the results of the Jupiter in the ascendant.

 

स्वक्षेत्रे शब्दशास्त्राधिकारी॥ १॥

त्रिवेदी बहुपुत्रवान् सुखी चिरायुः जानवान्॥ २॥

उच्चे पूर्नफलानि॥ ३॥

षोडशवर्षे महाराजयोगः॥ ४॥

अरिनीचपापानां क्षेत्रे पापायुते वा नीचकर्मवान्॥ ५॥

मनश्चलत्ववान् मध्यायुः पुत्रहीनः स्वजनपरित्यागी

कृतघ्नः गर्विष्ठ बहुजनद्वेषी सांचरवान् पापक्लेशभोगी॥ ६॥

arinīcapāpānāṁ kṣetre pāpāyute vā nīcakarmavān || 5||

manaścalatvavān madhyāyuḥ putrahīnaḥ svajanaparityāgī

kṛtaghnaḥ garviṣṭha bahujanadveṣī sāṁcaravān pāpakleśabhogī || 6||

 

svakṣetre own sign; śabdaśāstra a science of sound, word, language; adhi and others; kārī action, act;

trivedī the 3 Vedas; bahuputravān having many children; sukhī happy, joyful, present; cirāyu long-lived; jānavān learned;

ucce exalted; pūrnaphalāni full results (fruits);

ṣoḍaśavarṣe 16th year; mahārājayoga Maharaja yoga;

ari enemy; nīca debilitated; pāpānāṁ kṣetre malefic sign; pāpāyute conjoined malefic; or; nīcakarmavān having a low occupation;

manaś mind; calatvavān unsteady, fluctuating, confused, disturbed; madhyāyuḥ middle life span; putrahīna loss, abandonment or deprived of children; svajana one’s own people, kinsman, relationships to; parityāgī leaving, quitting, renouncing;

kṛtaghna ungrateful; garviṣṭha extremly proud; bahujana a great multitude of people; dveṣī inimical, hostile, hating; sāṁcaravān movable; pāpa bad, wicked, evil; kleśa pain, affliction, distress; bhogī experiencing, suffering, enjoying.

 

Translation: If Jupiter is in its own sign (Sagittarius or Pisces) in the first house (Ascendant) the native will be well versed in the science of sound and other sacred scriptures. He will have full knowledge of all three Vedas, good number of children and will be happy, long-lived and learned.

If Jupiter is in his sign of exaltation (Cancer) all the above results will be fully realized and in his 16th year he will enjoy the effects of Maharaja Yoga.

If Jupiter is placed in sign of his enemy, is debilitated (Capricorn), placed in a malefic sign or conjoined malefic planet the native will have a low occupation, he will have an unstable mind and a medium span of life. He will be childless (or may lose his children) and will forsake his own people. He will be ungrateful, extremely proud, and inimical towards others. He will like travels and will be miserable.
