Saturn in the First house (Ascendant)

Saturn 1अथ तन्वादिद्वादश भावस्थित शनिफलमाह

तत्रादौ लग्ने शनिफलम्

atha tanvādidvādaśa bhāvasthita śaniphalamāha

tatrādau lagne śaniphalam

atha now; tanva part of the body; adi and other; dvādaśabhāva twelve houses; sthita standing, being placed in; śani planet Saturn; phalam fruit, result; tatrādau therefore, therein; lagne Lagna or ascendant; śaniphalam the results of the Venus.

Translation: Now begins the twelve houses beginning from the Lagna and the placement of the Saturn therein. Therefore we can begin with the results of the Saturn in the ascendant.

 

वातपित्तदेहः॥ १॥

उच्चे पुरग्रामाधिपः धनधान्य समृद्धिः॥ २॥

स्वर्क्षे पितृधनवान्॥ ३॥

वाहनेशकर्मेशक्षेत्रे बहुभाग्यम्॥ ४॥

महाराजयोगः॥ ५॥

चन्द्रमसा दृष्टे भिक्षुकी वृत्तः॥ ६॥

शुभदृष्टे निवृत्तः॥ ७॥

 

vātapittadehaḥ || 1||

ucce puragrāmādhipaḥ dhanadhānya samṛddhiḥ || 2||

svarkṣe pitṛdhanavān || 3||

vāhaneśakarmeśakṣetre bahubhāgyam || 4||

mahārājayogaḥ || 5||

candramasā dṛṣṭe bhikṣukī vṛttaḥ || 6||

śubhadṛṣṭe nivṛttaḥ || 7||

 

vātapitta arising from the wind and from the bile, a form of rheumatism; deha the body;

ucce exalted; pura a house, residance, city; grāma village, community; adhipa rular, regent; dhana wealth, riches; dhānya consisting of grain, agriculture; samṛddhi prosperity, success, fortune;

svarkṣe own sign; pitṛ father; dhanavān wealthy, rich;

vāhaneśakarmeśakṣetre placed in the sign of the 4th or 10th house; bahubhāgyam very fortunate;

mahārājayoga Maharaja yoga;

candramasā the Moon; dṛṣṭe aspect; bhikṣukī beggar; vṛtta set in motion, become;

śubhadṛṣṭe aspect of benefic; nivṛtta turned back, rebounded, return.

 

Translation: If Saturn is in the first house (Ascendant), the native will suffer from rheumatic and bilious diseases. If Saturn is in his sign of exaltation (Libra) the native will have lordship over a village or town and will have financial and agricultural prosperity.

If Saturn is in own sign (Capricorn or Aquarius), father of the native will be wealthy.

If Saturn is in the ascendant placed in the sign of the 4th or the 10th house the native will be very fortunate and will enjoy the effects of Maharaja yoga.

If Saturn in the ascendant is aspected by the Moon, the native will earn his livelihood by begging. This will not happen if Saturn is aspected by a benefic also.

Venus in the Tenth house

Venus 10th

लग्नाद्दशमे भृगुफलम्

lagnāddaśame bhṛguphalam

lagnād Lagna or Ascendant, daśame tenth, bhṛguphalam fruits or results of the Venus

Translation: The results of the Venus in the tenth house.

 

बहुप्रतापवान् पापयुते कर्मविघ्नकरः

गुरुबुधचन्द्रयुते अनेकवाहनारोहणवान्॥ ५९॥

अनेकऋतुसिद्धिः॥ ६०॥

दिगन्तविश्रुतकीर्तिः अनेकराजयोगः बहुभाग्यवान् वाचालः॥ ६१॥

 

bahupratāpavān pāpayute karmavighnakaraḥ

gurubudhacandrayute anekavāhanārohaṇavān || 59||

anekaṛtusiddhiḥ || 60||

digantaviśrutakīrtiḥ anekarājayogaḥ bahubhāgyavān vācālaḥ || 61||

 

bahu much, many, abundance; pratāpavān glowing heat, splendor, glory; pāpayute conjoined malefic; karmavighna impediment to work, obstruction; kara doing, making, causing; gurubudhacandrayute conjoined Jupiter, Mercury and Moon; aneka not one, many, much; vāhana conveyance, vehicle; rohaṇavān fastening on;

aneka not one, many; ṛtu sacred or pious actions or pujas; siddhi accomplishment or fulfillment;

diganta remote distance; viśruta heard of far and wide, notorious, famous; kīrti fame, renown, glory; aneka not one, many; rājayoga Raja yoga; bahubhāgyavān very fortunate; vācāla talkative, chattering.

 

Translation: If Venus is in the tenth house, the native will be full of glory. If Venus is conjoined malefic, the native will have difficulties and obstacles in his undertakings.

If Venus is conjoined with Jupiter, Mercury and Moon, the native will be as under –

  1. He will enjoy the comfort of many conveyances;
  2. He will be accomplished in many religious ceremonies;
  3. He will enjoy worldwide reputation;
  4. He will enjoy many Raja yoga’s (highest accomplishments);
  5. He will be very fortunate and talkative.

 

 

 

 

Jupiter in the Ninth House

Jupiter 9th

लग्नान्नवमे गुरुफलम्

Translation: The results of the Jupiter in the ninth house.

 

धार्मिकः॥ ४४॥

तपस्वी साधुतारूढः धनिकः पंचत्रिंशद्यजकर्ता पित्रुदीर्घयुः

सत्कर्मसिद्धिः अनेकप्रतिष्ठावान् बहुजनपालकः॥ ४५॥

 

dhārmikaḥ || 44||

tapasvī sādhutārūḍhaḥ dhanikaḥ paṁcatriṁśadyajakartā pitrudīrghayuḥ

satkarmasiddhiḥ anekapratiṣṭhāvān bahujanapālakaḥ || 45||

 

dhārmika righteous, virtuous, pious;

tapasvī practicing austerities, devoted; sādhutā rightness, honesty, correctness; arūḍha having reached, attained, being known for; dhanika wealthy, rich; paṁcatriṁśad 35th; yajakartā act of worship or sacrifice; pitru father; dīrghayu long-lived;

satkarma a good work, virtuous act; siddhi accomplishment, success, fulfillment; aneka not one, many; pratiṣṭhāvān to depend on, prosper, be established; bahujana a great multitude of people; pālaka guarding, protecting, nourishing.

 

Translation: If Jupiter is in the ninth house the native will be righteous, he will practice austerities (will take interest in meditation), perform religious and charitable deeds and will be wealthy. In his 35th year he will perform religious ceremonies.

His father will be long-lived.

He will conduct virtuous acts and will receive many acknowledgements. He will give protection to many.
