The Sun in the Fifth house

Bhriguलग्नात्पंचमे रविफलम्

lagnātpaṁcame raviphalam

Translation: The results of the Sun in the fifth house.

 

निर्धनः स्थूलदेही सप्तमे वर्षे पित्रारिष्टवान्॥ ५१॥

मेधावी अल्पुत्रः बुद्धिमान्॥ ५२॥

भावाधिपे बलयुते पुत्रसिद्धिः॥ ५३॥

राहुकेतुयुते सर्पशापात् सुतक्षयः॥ ५४॥

कुजयुते शत्रुयुते मूलात्॥ ५५॥

शुभदृष्टयुते न दोषः॥ ५६॥

सूर्यशरभादिषु भक्तः॥ ५७॥

बलयुते पुत्रसमृद्धिः॥ ५८॥

nirdhana without property, poor; sthūladehī big-bodyed, large; saptame seventh; varṣe year; pitra from a father, ancestor; ariṣṭa unhurt, secure, safe, bodying misfortune; vān being;

medhāvī learned man, teacher, great learning capasity; alputra few children; uddhimān intelligent, learned, wise;

bhāvādhipe bhava lord, ruller; balayute endowed with strenght, powerful; putra son, child; siddhi accomplished, fullfiled, gained;

rāhu Rahu; ketu Ketu; yute conjoined; sarpa a snake, serpent, creeping; śāpāt a curse, malediction, abuse; suta son, child, offspring; kṣayaḥ loss, waist, destruction, decay;

kuja Mars; yute conjoined; śatru an enemy, foe, rival; yute conjoined; mūlāt root, foundation, basis, cause, origin;

śubha benefic, auspicious; dṛṣṭayute aspect and/or conjuction; na no, it is not so; doṣa foult, vice, defficiancy;

sūrya the Sun, Surya; śara 5th; bha sign, nakshatra, house; bhakta loved, devoted to, worshiped, liked, served;

balayute endowed with strenght, powerful; putra son, a child; samṛddhi great prosperity or succes; growth, increase.

 

Translation: If the Sun is in the fifith house, the native will be poor, of bulky body and in his sevent year, his father will face and overcome hurt, serious illnes or misfortune. The native will be learned and intelligent but will have few children. If the lord of the fifth house endowed with strength, person will have fullfilment through children.

If the Sun is associated with Rahu or Ketu, person can loose children due to the curse of Serapant God. If the Sun is in conjuction with Mars there will be loss of children due to enemy. If the above mentioned is under the aspect or in conjunction with a benefics, there will be no such loss of children.

When the Sun is in the fifth house, the person will become a devotee of the Sun God. If the Sun is strong the children will be prosperous.

The Sun in the Fourth house

हीनांगः अहंकारी जनविरोधी उष्नदेही मनः पीडावान्॥ ४३॥

द्वात्रिंशद्वर्षे सर्वकर्मानुकूलवान्॥ ४४॥

बहुप्रतिष्ठासिद्धिः सत्तापदवीज्ञानशौर्यसम्पन्नः॥ ४५॥

धन धान्यहीनः॥ ४६॥

भावाधिपे बलयुते स्वक्षेत्रेत्रिकोणे केन्द्रे लक्ष्नापेक्षया आन्दोलिकाप्राप्तिः॥ ४७॥

पापयुते पापवीक्षनवशाद् दुष्टस्थाने दुर्वहनसिद्धिः॥ ४८॥

क्षेत्रेहीनः॥ ४९॥

परगृह एव वासः॥ ५०॥

hīnāṁga defective in limb, lame, incomplete in parts; ahaṁkārī proud; jana people; virodhī opposing, hindering, obstructing; uṣnadehī hot body; manaḥ mind, intellect, intelligence; pīḍāvān pain, suffering, injury;

dvātriṁśadvarṣe the 32nd year; sarvakarma all kinds of works, containing all works; one who perform all acts; anukūla favourable, agreeable, conformable; vān endowed with, being, embodying;

bahupratiṣṭhā many establishments, many dwelling places, many deity establishments; siddhi accomplishments, performance, fulfilment; sattā goodness, excellence; pada leader, guide, forerunner; jñāna knowledge, learning, intelligence; śaurya heroism, valour, prowess; sampanna accomplished, excellent;

dhana wealth; dhānya bestowing wealth, fortunate, happy; hīna deficient, for saken, left out;

bhāvā being, existing; dhipe lord, commander; balayute with power, strength; svakṣetre in own sign; trikoṇe in trine; kendre in kendra house; lakṣna indicating, expressing indirectly, mark, sign, symbol; āpekṣayā looking round and about, consideration, reference; āndolikā swinging, fanning; prāptiḥ attainment, acquisition;

pāpayute conjoined with malefic; papa: malefic; vīkṣana looking at, aspecting, seeing, investigating; vaśād desired by, wished by; duṣṭasthāne in a bad house; durvahana bad vehicles; siddhiḥ accomplishment, success;

kṣetra land, property, soil; hīna left, abounded, deficient;

paragṛha homes of others; eva also; vāsaḥ to obide.

 

Translation: If the Sun is in the fourth house, the native will have defective limbs, he will be proud, will be opposed to the public and will have hot (pitta) constitution. In the 32nd year of his life, all his karmas will work to his benefit.

He would have completed many establishments/homes, he will be good leader, attain a high position, be knowledgeable and will become valorous. He will not, however, be well of financially.

If the lord of the fourth house is strong, or in its own sign and is placed in quadrant (Kendra) or trine (Trikona) house, he will obtain many comforts of the highest (royal) class.

If [the 4th lord] is joined or aspected by malefics by graha dristi or placed in a dusthana, the person will be skilled in bad/ruined vehicles. Will be devoid of land and will abide in others properties.

 

 

 

The Sun in the Third House

Translation: The results of the Sun in the third house.

 

बुद्धिमान् अनुजरहितः ज्येष्ठनाशः ॥ ३३॥

पंचमे वर्षे चतुरश्टद्वादशवर्षे वा किंचित्पीदा॥ ३४॥

पापयुते क्रूरकर्ता॥ ३५॥

द्विभ्रातृमान् पराक्रमी॥ ३६॥

युद्धे शूरश्च॥ ३७॥

कीर्तिमान् निजधनभोगी॥ ३८॥

शुभयुते सोदरवृद्दिः॥ ३९॥

भावाधिपे बलयुते भ्रातृदीर्घयुः॥ ४०॥

पापयुते पापेक्षणवंशान्नाशः॥ ४१॥

शुभवीक्षनवशाद्धनवान् भोगी सुखी च॥ ४२॥

buddhi intelligent, learned; mān to honour, respect; anuja younger, born after; rahita deserted, deprived; jyeṣṭha first, excellent; nāśa loss, death;

paṁcame fifth; varṣe year; catur four; aśṭa eight; dvādaśa twelve; varṣe year; or; kiṁcitpīdā mild bodily troubles;

pāpayute conjoined malefic; krūra cruel, inauspicious; kartā act, separation;

dvi two; bhrātṛmān brother or sister; parākramī to show courage, warrior;

yuddhe battle, fight, war; śūraśca strong or mighty, warrior, fighter;

śubhayute conjoined benefic or auspicious planet; sodara born from the same mother, brother; vṛddiḥ growth, prosperity;

bhāva house; adhipe lord; balayute endowed with strength, powerful; bhrātṛ brother; dīrghayu long longevity;

pāpayute conjoined or associated with malefic; pāpe malefic; kṣaṇa injuring, killing; vaṁśā family, lineage; nāśaḥ loss, destruction;

śubha benefic or auspicious; vīkṣa aspect; vaśā a cow; dhanavān wealthy; bhogī enjoying, eating; sukhī ca happy, plaesed.

 

Translation: If the Sun is in the third house, native will be intelligent, he will be deprived of younger brothers and his elder brothers will not survive. In his fifth, fourth, eight and twelfth year he will suffer from mild bodily troubles. If the Sun is conjoined with a malefic planet, native will do cruel deeds.

He will have two brothers  (*some opine that there is a mistake in original text and translate this as mother instead of brother, more on that in commentary) and will be valorous. He will be a brave fighter. He will have a good reputation and will enjoy his wealth. Is the Sun is associated with a benefic planet, brothers will be prosperous. If the lord of the third house is strong, the brother will be long lived.

It the Sun is associated with malefic the family will be destroyed. If the Sun is aspected with benefic (and has no malefic influence) there will be growth of family and native will be wealthy, will enjoy good life and will be happy.

 

 

The Sun in the second house

मुखरोगी॥ २२॥ पंछविंशतिवर्षे राजदन्डेन द्रव्यच्छेदः॥ २३॥ उच्चे स्वक्षेत्रे ना दोषः॥ २४॥
mukharogī ||22|| paṁchaviṁśativarṣe rājadanḍena dravyacchedaḥ ||23|| ucce svakṣetre nā doṣaḥ ||24||
mukha the mouth, face; rogī disease; paṁchaviṁśativarṣe twenty fifth year; rājadanḍena kings punishment; dravya object, thing; cchedaḥ cut off, torn off, separated; ucce or exalted; svakṣetre own sign; nā no, won’t occur; doṣa fault, deficiency, vice;
Translation: If the Sun is in the second house person will suffer from disease of the mouth (face). In the twenty-fifth year the person will suffer on account of the wrath of Government and can suffer the loss of wealth. This problem will not happen if the Sun is in own sign (Leo) or in its sign of exaltation (Aries).

 

पापयुते नेत्ररोगी॥ २५॥ स्वल्पविद्वान् रोगी॥ २६॥ शुभवीक्षिते धनवान् दोषादीन् व्यपहरती॥ २७॥ नेत्रसौख्यम्॥ २८॥ स्वोच्चे स्वक्षेत्रे वा बहुधनवान्॥२९॥
pāpayute netrarogī || 25|| svalpavidvān rogī || 26|| śubhavīkṣite dhanavān doṣādīn vyapaharatī || 27|| netrasaukhyam || 28|| svocce svakṣetre vā bahudhanavān || 29||
pāpayute conjoined with a malefic; netraroge disease of the eye; svalpa very small or little; vidvān learned, intelligent, wise; rogī diseased; śubha auspicious; vīkṣite looked at, aspected; dhanavān wealthy, rich; doṣā darkness, fault; dīn sad, depressed; vyapaharatī: to take away, remove, destroy; netrasaukhyam health of the eyes;
svocce own sign and sign of exaltation; or; bahudhanavān wealthy, rich;
Translation: If the Sun is associated with a malefic planet, the native will get an eye-disease; he will have little knowledge and will be of ill health. If the Sun is aspected by benefics the person will be protected from these evils and will be wealthy.

 

बुधयुते पवनवाक्॥ ३०॥ धनाधिपः स्वोच्चे वाग्मी॥ ३१॥ शास्त्रजः जानवान् नेत्रसौख्यम् राजयोगश्छ॥ ३२॥

budhayute conjoined Mercury; pavana wind, air; vāk speech; dhanādhipa lord of the second house; svocce own sign and sign of exaltation; vāgmī talkative, eloquent; śāstrajaḥ learned in shastras or sacred scriptures; jānavān knowledgeable; netrasaukhyam good eye sight; rājayogaścha rajayoga.
Translation: If the Sun is with Mercury the native will stammer in speech. If the lord of the second house is posited in his own sign (Leo) or exaltation sign (Aries), the person will be eloquent, will have knowledge of ancient scriptures, will be learned and will enjoy good eyesight. This disposition will cause Rajayoga.
