Venus

अथ तन्वादिद्वादश भावस्थित भृगुफलमाह

तत्रादौ लग्ने भृगुफलम्

atha tanvādidvādaśa bhāvasthita bhṛguphalamāha

tatrādau lagne bhṛguphalam

atha now; tanva part of the body; adi and other; dvādaśabhāva twelve houses; sthita standing, being placed in; bhṛgu planet Venus; phalam fruit, result; tatrādau therefore, therein; lagne Lagna or ascendant; bhṛguphalam the results of the Venus.

Translation: Now begins the twelve houses beginning from the Lagna and the placement of the Venus therein. Therefore we can begin with the results of the Venus in the ascendant.

दीर्घयुः दारप्रियः वस्त्रालंकारप्रियः रूपलावण्यप्रियः गुणवान्॥ १२॥

स्त्रीप्रियः धनीविद्वान्॥ ३॥

शुभयुते अनेक भूषणवान्॥ ४॥

स्वर्णकान्तिदेहः॥ ५॥

पापवीक्षतयुते नीचास्तगते चोरवंचनवान्॥ ६॥

वातश्लेष्मादिरोगवान्॥ ७॥

भावाधिपे राहुयुते बृहद्विद्वीजो भवति॥ ८॥

वाहने शुभयुते गजान्तैश्वर्यवान्॥ ९॥

स्वक्षेत्रे महाराजयोगः॥ १०॥

रन्ध्रे षष्ठाव्ययाधिपेशुक्रे दुर्बले स्त्रीद्वयं॥ ११॥

चंचलभाग्यः॥ १२॥

क्रूरबुद्धिः॥ १३॥

dīrghayuḥ dārapriyaḥ vastrālaṁkārapriyaḥ rūpalāvaṇyapriyaḥ guṇavān || 12||

strīpriyaḥ dhanīvidvān || 3||

śubhayute aneka bhūṣaṇavān || 4||

svarṇakāntidehaḥ || 5||

pāpavīkṣatayute nīcāstagate coravaṁcanavān || 6||

vātaśleṣmādirogavān || 7||

bhāvādhipe rāhuyute bṛhadvidvījo bhavati || 8||

vāhane śubhayute gajāntaiśvaryavān || 9||

svakṣetre mahārājayogaḥ || 10||

randhre ṣaṣṭhāvyayādhipeśukre durbale strīdvayaṁ || 11||

caṁcalabhāgyaḥ || 12||

gaṇitaśāstraja learned in mathematics;

dīrghayu long lived; dāra a wife; priya beloved, dear, favorite; vastrā cloths, garment, dress; alaṁkāra ornament, decoration; priya beloved, fond of; rūpa beauty, handsome form, feature; lāvaṇya beauty, charm, loveliness; priya beloved, fond of; guṇavān endowed with good qualities or virtues;

strīpriya dear to woman; dhanī wealthy, rich; vidvān knowing, understanding;

śubhayute conjoined benefic; aneka not one, many, much; bhūṣaṇavān embellished, decorated;

svarṇaka golden, of gold; antideha near, proximate to body;

pāpavīkṣatayute aspected by or conjoined malefic; nīca debilitated; astagate combustion; cora a thief; vaṁcanavān cheating, deception, fraud;

vāta wind, śleṣmādirogavān rheumatic or phlegmatic disease;

bhāvādhipe lord of the house; rāhuyute conjoined Rahu; bṛhadvidvījo hydrocele; bhavati being, present;

vāhane conveying, vehicle; śubhayute conjoined benefic; gajāntaiśvaryavān owner of elephants;

svakṣetre own sign; mahārājayoga Maharaja yoga;

randhre ṣaṣṭhāvyayadhipe lord of the eight, sixth or twelfth house; śukre Venus; durbale weak (bad bala); strīdvayaṁ two wives;

caṁcalabhāgya changeable luck, fluctuating luck;

krūrabuddhi cruel-minded.

 

Translation: If Venus is in the first house (ascendant) the native will be proficient in mathematics and long lived. He will be loved by his wife, fond of ornaments, good dresses and beauty and will be virtues.

He will be liked by woman, wealthy and knowledgeable.

If Venus is conjoined benefic he will own many ornaments and his body will shine like a gold.

If Venus is conjoined or aspected by a malefic, is debilitated (in Virgo) or combust, the native will be a thief and fraud. He will suffer on account of rheumatic and phlegmatic diseases (vatta related diseases).

If the lord of the house is conjoined Rahu, native will suffer from hydrocele.

If Venus is in the ascendant and the 4th lord is conjoined benefic, the native will own elephants (conveyances). If Venus is in own sign (Taurus or Libra) the native will enjoy Maharaja yoga.

If Venus is lord of the 6th, 8th or 12th house or weak, the native will have two wives, his fortune will be changeable and he will be hard hearted.
